Breast Feeding is Good For Both Mother and Baby

Do you want to have a great start to your baby’s life ? Breast feeding your baby for at least 3 months and up to 12 months if possible. That’s what most pediatric specialists advise. Breast feeding is to the advantage of both the baby and you as a new mother. For  a number of well established reasons, it is great for your  baby.

Your baby needs  the vital vitamins, minerals, carbohydrate, protein, and fats to develop healthily and progress towards toddler hood. Your breast milk is filled with them all.

Research has recognized that compared to bottle fed, babies who are either breast fed or receive expressed breast milk in a bottle have a lower mortality and fewer episodes of getting sick.

Your breast milk has lots of protective nutrients and antibodies that assist with protection against frequently observed diseases such as ear infection, diarrhea and chest problems.

Your breast milk also contains vital fatty acids which are important in the development of your babies brain and they seem to boost skills and abilities.

Time to Move from a Crib to a Toddler Bed

When to move your child from their crib to a toddler bed? It is a very common question among parents. There is no definite answer on it, but many child specialists suggest that between the ages of 2 or 3 is a good starting point. What you have to keep in mind is if your child is starting to climb out the crib, so it is time to go from the crib to the bed. If not, you run the risk of your child hurting themselves.

Then, what type of bed ? Several choices you have for the first bed after the crib are:

- Toddler Beds. Something you have to remember is that your child will be sooner or later outgrowing and as it happens you may be consuming money again on another bed.

- Bunk Beds. If one of your children is at least 6 years old, so this is an option. However, you shouldn't put children under the age of 6 in a top bunk since top bunks are just not safe for children under the age of 6.

- A full size or twin bed. It costs more in the short time but it can save your money in the long term. It is a bed that your child can use during their childhood. The use of portable bed rails helps make a full or twin bed safer for a toddler.
